Bouchons D’Oreilles is a new project by two experienced polish musicians/sound artists Łukasz Kacperczyk and Mateusz Wysocki. On Idele, the duo pairs regular field recordings with synthetic arrangements that mimic the nature of field recordings only to blur the lines between the two. The concept is intriguing in itself but it is also executed in a masterful way, resulting in a highly entertaining listening. With the densely layered electro-acoustic soundscapes and the irregular patterns shaping the compositions, for the most part, Bouchon D’Oreilles – which translates as earplugs – succeeds in deceiving our brain, making it to register these pieces not as songs, but as familiar natural ambiances of undiscovered lands. The five original songs, although diverse in audio palette work great together as a whole, leading up to two bonus remixes by Farbwechsel’s own producers, Kokum and S Olbricht.

I thought for a long time to find the right words to describe this release, but I cannot without sounding too cheezy: It's overwhelming, a great concept on working with classical instruments in such a way. Without a doubt a role model for similar music! Goldsaftbube
