The new release from SL@T Machine is a bold challenge to electronic music audiences. Unusual format consisting of 6 cassettes delivers 8+ hours of listening pleasure that may prove captivating as well as disturbing. All music is live recorded manipulation of analogue synthesiser modules that are used to induce chaos. Literal chaos arises from extensive use of feedback which results in malfunction of filters and nonlinearities. Musically, this album bridges the formally unconventional contemporary music and elements of EDM that is made using basic analogue gear.
Zlatko Baracskai, responsible for this rich palette of noise and pulse is a Senior Lecturer in Audio Synthesis and his material is a true niche that stands out from the sequencers and envelopes based synthesis in the most unusual ways.
